Tanzania is bordered by Kenya and Uganda on the north, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the west, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique on the south. In 1996 Tanzania's National Assembly moved to Dodoma, but many government offices remain in the previous national capital, Dar es Salaam , which also remains the commercial capital.

The Julius Nyerere International Airport connects Dar es Salaam and Tanzania with other African countries, the Middle East, India as well as Europe.

Tanzania has a well developed tourist industry, with hotels, lodges and resorts to suit every budget. The infrastructure in Tanzania though lacks behind, and only the most popular areas have sealed main roads.
