Angola is bordered by Namibia, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and has a 1,650 kilometers long coastline with the South Atlantic Ocean to the west. The Northern Angolan province of Cabinda is separated from the rest of the country by a strip, about 60 km. (37 mi) wide, of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mussula Island is a beautiful extension of land located in the south of the capital, Luanda. It is known for its natural beauty, and is one of the best known tourist attractions in Luanda. Other attractions in Luanda are the Benfica Market where you can by handicrafts and souvenirs, the Ilha de Luanda for seaside dining and bars, Kissama National Park for animal and bird watching, and the Kwanza River.
Luanda-4-de-Fevereiro International Airport is located 4 kilometers outside Luanda. The airport mostly has air traffic to and from other African countries, primarily South Africa. There are a few weekly direct flights to and from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and to and from the United States. All nationals must get a visa prior to arrival. It is not possible to obtain a visa upon arrival. Your passport must be valid for at least another 6 months and contain two blank pages. You furthermore need an international vaccination certificate, showing yellow fever vaccination within the last 10 years, and finally you need a letter of invitation from a private individual, organization or company stating that they will take responsibility for your stay.
